2017, 24-30 SEPTEMBER - CRETE, GREECE.  THE LIBRARIANS OF USARB AT THE "QUALITY ASSURANCE" TRAINING

training GreeceFrom...24...to 30 September 2017, members of the USARB Project Team, Elena Harconiţa, Director, Lina Mihaluţa, Deputy Director, Valentina Topalo, Head of service, participated in the international training held at the University of Crete, Greece within the framework of the international project, "Library Network Support Services: modernising libraries in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus through library staff development and reforming libraries [LNSS]”, project under the Erasmus+ program "Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education (CBNE)”, funded by the European Commission.

The training was attended by representatives of the institutions participating in the Eastern Partnership (Moldova, Armenia and Belarus) and the Balkan Partnership Countries (Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina) with the participation of the European Union partners: Germany, Ireland, Romania and the country host of training - Greece.

The training focused on the training of librarians in the field of Quality Assurance.

Mrs.Teresa Khechoyan, Project Coordinator, presented a report on activities implemented  since launching  the LNSS Project and the results.

training GreeceRepresentatives of the nine partner institutions of Armenia, Moldova and Belarus developed  the Library National Awareness Day SWOT analysis for 2018, based on the lessons learnt and EU experts’ conclusions.

The seminar ended with the "English as a Medium of Instruction’’ training program.

The participants visited the Library of the University of Crete and the Public Library of Rethimno, familiarizing with architecture and building conditions, organizational structure and methods of book restoration at a special laboratory.

Also, it was organized a visit to the Public Library of Rethymno, which impressed not only through the rich collections, but also through the comfortable conditions of the building, modern technologies designed for people with special needs.

All this knowledge will be subsequently implemented in the activity of the Scientific Library USARB.

Within the section of Library and Information Science at the Annual scientific–practical conference with international participation. "Tradition and Innovation in Scientific Research”, held on October 12, 2017, Elena Harconita spoke about the training in Crete and presented the scientific paper "The University Library and developing good practices in International Projects”.
