2018, 14 JUNE - LIBRARY NETWORK SUPPORT SERVICES: MODERNISING LIBRARIES IN ARMENIA, MOLDOVA AND BELARUS THROUGH LIBRARY STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND REFORMING LIBRARIES PROJECT MONITORING MEETING

monitorizare 02..The..project..team : Elena Harconiţa, Director, Lina Mihaluţa, Deputy Director, Igor Afatin, Deputy Director, Valentina Topalo, base librarian of the Scientific Library USARB, participated in the monitoring meeting of the project “Library Network Support Services: modernising libraries in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus through library staff development and reforming libraries", which took place on June 14, 2018 at the Scientific Library of the Academy of Public Administration in Chisinau.

At the opening meeting, Rector Oleg Balan, Ph.D., professor mentioned the importance of participating in international projects, the added value and the benefits they bring to the Moldovan institutions.

The representatives of the Erasmus + National Office in the Republic of Moldova, Claudia Melinte, the coordinator of the institution and Cristina Gherman, have been informed and documented about the achievement of the Project's objectives, encountered difficulties in implementation by the SL USARB and SLAAP.

During the project monitoring meeting, the representatives of each library made presentations on the subject of project implementation:

  • Rodica Sobieţki-Camerzan, director of the SL AAP, presented “LNSS: Objectives and Achievements" in which she spoke about the achievements of the Project within the AAP Scientific Library and reviewed the purpose, objectives, impact and relevance of the project, the mobility and impact of training activities, the development of the Pilot Module Curriculum 3. Transferable Essential Management and Skills for Librarians, Module 5 Innovative Library Online Services for 21st Century Librarians, and the Develoyment of the National Awareness Day on Libraries ;

  • monitorizare 3Elena Harconiţa, director of SL USARB, presented "Professional success and difficulties in the implementation of the LNSS Project". She counted Project activities, mobility, institutional activities, Teaching the Module 8 Curriculum. Library Collection Development Policy, the Pilot Module Curriculum 4 The Information Literacy and Research Skills as well as the project component of the National Awareness Day on Libraries, visibility of the Project: the USARB site, the Project page on the USARB website, the Ministry of Culture and Research, the social networks, papers in the colloquiums, symposiums, workshops, promotion materials .

The meeting continued with the questions and answers session,discussions, exchange of points of views on the implementation of the project at SL USARB and SL AAP. Erasmus + representatives and members of the project implementation team discussed the successes and questions raised during the 2 years of activity: the final product of the Project; use of available resources; the purchase of technical equipment; recommendations on project continuity at national level; application to new Erasmus + projects; making appointments with the Armenia Project Coordinator on the final conference in the autumn of 2018, solving financial statements.

Finally, the representatives of the Erasmus + National Office in the Republic of Moldova, Claudia Melinte and Cristina Gherman, appreciated the work, the success of the project teams, emphasizing the efficient communication and good relations of the Project partners, which ensures a good completion of the Project and future collaboration in other ERASMUS + projects.

The project “Library Network Support Services: modernising libraries in Armenia, Moldova and Belarus through library staff development and reforming libraries” will finish in November 2018.
